Private Power Strike Force Squelched Until After May 12th

The Local News on CBC Early Edition talked about a provincial Strike Force inspecting private power projects

Today, on the CBC Early Edition, there was a story about an e-mail leaked to the CBC concerning the findings of various provinical Strike Forces inspecting various private power projects in BC. Some questions spring to mind about this whole private power issue:
  • Gordon Campbell has completed the sale (or is it a give a way) of up to 600 British Columbia streams to private industry. How did this happen? Where was the public consultation?
  • The sale/give away has been completed with at best limited public openness. I cannot find any press conference where Gordon Campbell announced the sale/give away policy and answered media questions on the topic.
  • Gordon Campbell has put a muzzle on the Strike Team findings until after the May 12 election, although some of these raids on private power projects were completed last year for goodness sakes. Why the delay Gordo? Did your ultra rich friends tell you its better to muzzle this one?
  • What is the process for deciding who can get a river for power generation? Nothing short of an independent, Bravewood style, commission is required to review the secret dealings of Gordon Campbell's Liberals on the handling of this sale/give away. I want to know if there is any truth to the The List of Key Liberal Insiders Hired by Private Power Developers, and also if the bloggers behind that list missed other names.
    Gordon Campbell:
    • Are Liberal insiders working for power developers?
    • Are these real jobs, no work jobs, or no work no show jobs? Just what kind of jobs required staffing by Liberal insiders?
    • How many Liberal insiders are working for private power companies?
    • What special skills does the Liberal insiders bring to these job?
As a BC voter, I want to know what Gordon Campbell and Gordon Campbell's ultra rich friends know about private power in British Columbia -- a Bravewood style independent inquiry is warranted IMO based on the evidence bloggers have already produced. Charges T.B.D.

At a first review, it looks like another deal Gordon Campbell has completed in the backroom with his ultra rich friends.

And, as a concerned BC voter I definitely do NOT want to find out other kinds of sales/give aways Gordo could pull off in what would likely be his last 4 year term. Imagine just how arragont Gordo would be if he knew he'd never have to face the voters again. It is a given that Gordon Campbell's very limited availability to media will end on May 13th.

So don't take a chance. Don't vote for the Campbell Liberal line-up!!
